Connecting with the Body
CONNECTING WITH THE BODY - Pathway to personal creativity
Led by Charlie Blowers
Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June 2012, 10am – 5pm with breaks
Course Fee: £120
This weekend workshop is an invitation to explore the dynamics of personal creativity; the expression of our aliveness and at times what gets in the way of this.
Participants will be invited to create a mask in response to connecting deeply with the body, which will form the basis of a journey of exploration. Over the course of the weekend there will be an opportunity to creatively investigate stories and conflicting qualities held within the mask. There will also be time to reflect on resonances this process reveals in terms of a personal and collective narrative.
This workshop is an opportunity to both explore blocks to being fully alive as well as providing material for creating theatre from a more personal point of view.
Charlie Blowers completed Arts Psychotherapy training at The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education, London in 1996 and is a UKCP registered psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. Since 2000, Charlie has pursued further training in Le Coq based physical theatre approaches, particularly clowning and the potential of personal exploration to form the basis for devising theatre. In 2006 she co-founded Moving Pieces an innovative mental health provision for young people, which integrates approaches from physical theatre, storytelling, therapeutic group work and body based approaches to working with trauma.
