Therapeutic Personal Development through the Performing Arts - with Amy Russell

10 LOW-COST SESSIONS OF THERAPEUTIC PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH THE PERFORMING ARTS: 10/10/11 - 16/12/11

These ten 75 minute sessions are designed to create movement in areas where there are feelings of being stuck, repetitive patterns, and a lack of feeling and emotion. They will explore what might be blocked potential in personal expression and creative strength. Based in the present-centred methods of Gestalt Therapy, these sessions integrate structured performance practices and non-structured time, during which emerging themes may be explored in a supportive therapeutic relationship. Performance practices may include:

- physical centring
- body awareness
- movement
- vocal release
- playfulness
- spontaneity and improvisation
- creative narrative
- exploring the use of masks to develop personal expression

A confidential, safe, and supportive environment will be established to encourage and facilitate the risk-taking necessary for personal expression and growth.
