                     VISION

                      The LONDON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF
PERFORMING ARTS (LISPA) is a centre of research and innovation.
Located in one of the most vibrant and culturally exciting
cities in the world, LISPA seeks to promote the creation
of the theatre of tomorrow. Our work is to lead theatre
makers and performers in the discovery of their individual
artistic paths, and to nurture and stimulate students
creative potential. The school equips students to participate
fully in the diverse world of today's performing arts, and
appeals to those committed to the creation of their own
work. The journey which the school offers students is both
poetic and practical, integrating a deep curiosity for life
                      with a passion for theatre.

On this journey students will attain a deeper insight into
their abilities as performers, actors and directors for
the stage. At LISPA we value the individual's capacity for
creating his or her own theatre and we respect and support
the common desire of artists from around the globe
to find and express together the voice of their generation.

                      BACKGROUND

LISPA is a new, independent school
                      for the performing arts.
Inaugurated in the autumn of 2003, it welcomes in its sixth
season over 100 students from 35 different countries, and
offers performers and theatre artists a uniquely stimulating
and challenging meeting place. The school was founded by Thomas Prattki,
former pedagogical director of the Ecole Internationale
de Theatre Jacques Lecoq in Paris.

                      LISPA offers a one-year Initiation Course, a one-year Advanced
Course and a one-year Teacher Training Course under the guidance
                      of an
international team of teachers . They bring to the school a
wide diversity of experience as creators, performers and
directors. They share a passion for theatrical innovation
and a wish to explore with the students new territories
in the ever-evolving world of contemporary performing arts.
                      In
addition to these programmes, LISPA offers weekend workshops and evening courses
                      for professional development.

                        | The
vision to be an artist reflects the desire to feel the
movement of life around and within us. This is why we
place the dynamics of life at the very center of our
interest - in order to gain a deeper understanding of
the world we live in. We hope to foster in our students those qualities
which they will need most in order
to find their place as artists in the performing world:
a never ending curiosity in life as it is; a strong
vision of life as it could be; and a fully alive body
through which to express creative vision. |
